Lullaby

as the stars descent upon the dark sky

a lullaby can be heard

let the deliciously warmed milk

put you to sleep

and its scent put you to ease

with her gentle hand patting your soft hair

may you fall asleep with mother’s care.

p.s

a poem written by my 13 year old daughter. what do you guys think? let me know.

      1. Yes, I can tell that you are beaming…I am not a parent but I was a child and it was always uplifting and encouraging to see my parents smile and applaud when I did something well…cheers!!

  1. That’s very good. My poems at her age usually began “roses are red, violets are blue” and then added with a stupid joke in the next two lines. Not exactly sophisticated, I’m afraid. 🙂
