Monday Morning Melts 2

I want this to be perfect

Am pretty sure it’s not

But either way, we’re here today

That’s already a lot

I want this to be flawless

I guess that won’t come true

But either way, we’re here this way

Am here for you.

The stadium lights are binding

We’e not supposed to be here

But still we choose to stay and laugh and

run and go into hiding

The chances drop to zero

We’re quickly losing time

PROMPT: Love Me Now – John Legend

I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone
So I’m gonna love you now, like it’s all I have
I know it’ll kill me when it’s over
I don’t wanna think about it, I want you to love me now

Your Turn:

  1. Share a poem, story, or photo inspired by this week’s song-lyrics-prompt. You can share something you created that was inspired directly by the lyrics or you can share other pieces that coincidentally fit the prompt (for ex: an old piece of yours, or one of a beloved blogger – with permission).
  2. Linkback/create a pingback to this post. Here is a quick tutorial on how to do it.
  3. Tag your post with MondayMorningMelts, so we and  your co-bloggers will be able to read/see your take on the prompt. Here’s how you create tags.
  4. Most important of all, read and comment to your blogger friends (old and new found, we’ll never know).😉

There are no word limits and no restrictions except to stay true to the theme. Creating a brand new post in response to the prompt is also optional.

The goal isn’t to create new content, but rather to share pieces that melt the heart, tickle the soul, and brighten up a typically gloomy Monday. That’s why if you already have a piece that fits this week’s lyrics, or if you have a fellow blogger whose piece you want to share (with their permission), you are more than welcome to do so!

FUTURE PROMPTS

It came to our attention (thank you Sarah!) that we should reveal the prompts for the upcoming month to give all of you who would like to participate time to prepare your submissions. Here they are for the rest of November:

  • Monday Nov. 21: In Your Hands- Jason Mraz

But when you’re alone
You’re living in a world with only choices
And what I choose is you

  • Monday Nov. 28: As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys

Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I’m leavin’ my life in your hands
People say I’m crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance

  1. Oooh love your take on the lyrics! Love how you ended it bittersweetly with the line “we’re quickly losing time”. It really emphasizes the reality that we’re all losing time and there is no point in waiting for something, even love, to be perfect. We just have to be in the moment now, and to love as hard as we can now. ❤

Thank you for writing such a lovely piece to the prompt!

      1. Aww 😦 Have you considered asking for help in the WordPress help forum? I used it once when I was having issues with my comment threads and everything was promptly resolved by the next day! 🙂

  2. Why do we forget that we are here only for a limited time? We tend to take everything for granted till it’s too late instead of living for the now. We’re all alive and well and should do our fullest to live too. Waiting for something thinking there’s time… ain’t gonna work. Nothing’s going to be a 100% perfect. Life isn’t. Why do expect anything else to be? You’ve said it all in such a realistic manner 🙂

  3. It’s in the imperfections where genuine love dwells. We get caught up with how flawless and refined a relationship should be, that we overlook the importance of fraility and pain. Gorgeous, Mich, and so true.
