The Flip
When your world has turned
Upside down
You are left in the middle
Weary and lost
Waiting,
Wanting,
Holding,
For the next flip.

I know the feeling Mich. we are sometimes so helpless. let things take its course is all we can do. I am seeing you being very strong no matter what flips you.

Wise words Mich. Sometimes, it seems like weathering the storm can be an eternity. It’s easier when we are reminded that the storm will eventually end. Great poem.

Yes sometimes those flips can disorientate us, And yet at other times, those flips set us on a new path as we never look back.. 😀
Loved your poem and thought provoking image.. 🙂

Oh I so agree, while we are in the zone of our crisis, no matter what that is, it is hard for us to see the plus side..
I speak from experience of travelling down my own dark tunnel of a nervous breakdown. To which I would not wish any other to experience.. But in hindsight, this was my wake up call, and set me on another path, And having gone through such deep depression, I can empathise with many who are being flipped and tossed about right now.. Many thanks for your comment also
😀 Have a Peaceful Sunday 🙂

When I experience those feelings, I often say that I’ve come down from the mountain to wander in the valley below, fervently waiting to find myself on the upswing once again…I love your wording, Mich! The flip…there’s a lot going on at the moment in my world…your words make me feel less alone!

Been trying to figure ougt WHY this was entitled “Flip”. There’s a little bird on the…cager door. Was it who was doing the flipping?

My Friend, You have captured so much of the churning chaos that besets us when our world gets flipped upside down in this great poem!! So often these things sneak up on us unaware which makes them even more devastating. More like an earthquake than anything. Yes, that is what you have captured and waiting for all the emotional and other after shocks! I think you might need a sequel to this for the subsequent “flip/after shock”!
Really great poem – Bravo!!!!

Hi Mich
Short, simple and perfect. You have captured exactly how I felt after losing my hearing…I continue to have these flip feelings every now and then, and it is just as you have written …feeling weary and lost, and waiting for the next time…
Hope you are well,
Best wishes
