The Edge -poem

20181003_164149

The Edge
Have you ever stood
on the edge
of a cliff?
of a building?

Then you thought
“what if I jump”?
Did you ever think
that you would jump?
I did.
Many times.
And for that many times
I knew I would never jump.
Because for that many times
You were there standing beside me
On the edge.

Enchanter-poem

Enchanter

I say a little prayer
For you my dear.

I hum a silent chant
My wish, please grant.

I desire you with all my heart
Even when we are apart.

But if by chance you don’t know
I can make your life high and low.

So want me back, please do
Or I’ll be wherever you go.

I am an enchanter
A great lover.

The Time Keeper -Mitch Albom

20181022_201155

” WE DO NOT REALIZE THE SOUND THE WORLD MAKES  – UNLESS, OF COURSE, IT COMES TO STOP. THEN, WHEN IT STARTS, IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ORCHESTRA” –Mitch Albom, The Time Keeper

The Timekeeper is a novel written by Mitch Albom, one of my favorite authors. Here he tells the story of the inventor of the world’s first clock who was punished for wanting and for trying to measure God’s greatest gifts. As punishment, he was banished to a cave for so long and that from there he is forced to listen to voices of all who came after him seeking more days, more years

This novel will help us reconsider our own notions of time, how we spend, and how precious it truly is and this,  for me has been and will always be how I view time.

Gone -poem

Gone

IMG-20181022-WA0008

The sun is up today
so I gleefully  say
“This espresso I am having
is soothing and warming”.

I bet it’s from the blue mountain of Jamaica, Columbia, Guatemala or Java
it has a golden colored crema on top
and that robust flavor made me snap.

I felt a sweet lingering after taste
so I snag another cup in haste
**ensaymada is what I am having it with
“soft and delicate; buttery and grilled”.

It’s a sunny day today
as I take a sip, grab a bite and say
“Dad, it’s been really a long while
you’re way too gone but I miss you still”.

Note:

In memory of my father who has gone ahead of us to heaven.

**Ensaymada is a pastry product from Mallorca. It is a common cuisine eaten in most former Castilian territories in Latin America and the Philippines.

Stone Cold (poem)

Stone cold, that has become
Of a child abandoned at home.

Stone cold, a mother had been
Lonely, tired, and forgotten.

Stone cold, a father for sure
All tide up at work, joy so unsure.

Stone cold, a family will be
If, and only they allow it to be.

Each twist in the universe
is a new experience,
a change in the
settings of our lives
adapt and live
with the change.
Adjust our vision
to the new pattern of life
set before us.

For we are, a kaleidoscope world.

Stuck (Etheree)

Stuck
In the
Middle of
Life’s crossroad paths
What we missed; must go
Least we live in the past
And can’t let go; the present
Is a must to live and enjoy
For nobody gets closer, as future
Remains a vision, when we are just stuck.
