The Edge
Have you ever stood
on the edge
of a cliff?
of a building?
Then you thought
“what if I jump”?
Did you ever think
that you would jump?
I did.
Many times.
And for that many times
I knew I would never jump.
Because for that many times
You were there standing beside me
On the edge.

i am so glad to hear there was that someone standing there beside you and you saw and trusted to step off, there are those who don’t. this poem really is such a powerful message about how broken we are inside but no one can see or knows because we are so perfect on the outside.

Very well said Gina…whether it was a literal case of jumping off or not; we only need people who believed in us…people who will help us see through the good in even the worst situation and in the end we will be grateful for without the we would have probably not made it..

I’m sure it will. It will resonate with many people who need to read it and with those that need to share it with someone who needs to read it.

Intense and sad, and yet a beautiful tribute to love and compassion. How many lives might be saved by someone willing to stand beside us in those low moments. A poem powerful beyond the words, Mich.
