Clarity

corruption is a virus, killing the very core
of every  organization
in the same way that the political system
is trying to poison the people with
a concept that is undoubtedly used to shine a light on its perceived destructive nature

what is worst than a virus
is man’s inability to see with clarity
the reality of even the simplest life
situation

when a father has remained literally
blinded by his child’s deceitful behaviors
for supposedly  simply being childish
and longing for attention

when a husband refuses to listen to the truth
of how his family is a mess for being
selfish and self-centered

when a wife refuses to feel through
her very core that she sucks at being both
a mother and a wife, thus finding help
doesn’t make her less of a woman

when a child can easily sniff and
manipulate a kind-hearted parent
by playing the victim
whenever reprimanded
the fuzzy behavior of confusion
such is the effect when man
is incapable of seeing things
with clarity

worst than a virus
contagious than corruption

Day 5 of NaPoWriMo

Our prompt for today is called the “Twenty Little Poetry Projects,” and was originally developed by Jim Simmerman. The challenge is to use/do all of the following in the same poem. Of course,  if you can’t fit all twenty projects into your poem, or a few of them get your poem going, that is just fine too!

1. Begin the poem with a metaphor.
2. Say something specific but utterly preposterous.
3. Use at least one image for each of the five senses, either in succession or scattered randomly throughout the poem
4. Create a metaphor using the following construction: “The (adjective) (concrete noun) of (abstract noun).

you aced the prompt! using the metaphor and then something preposterous, really amazing poem Mich, so well done. Every stanza was pure truth and so descriptive, like looking in a mirror for some. corruption wears different hats and masks in your poem, excellent!

  3. I completely agree with these true and powerful words so well composed, Mich. We all have to come out from this selfishness and clothe ourselves with selflessness that is the need of the hour today.

  6. Beautiful written and simply explained. Corruption is the virus the contaminated pill everyone swallows eagerly in the hope it will remove all discomfort only to be drawn further into the drowning pools of misery. Time to close ears to media and walk away live a normal life grasp it with both hands

    Clarity is so important.

Ignorance is basically the opposite and only breeds corruption and dysfunction as you become oblivious to devious deeds.

Clarity is one of my favorite topics to write about.

Knowing what stands in the way of your goals and how you’ll overcome them is vital. Having a system of habits to execute daily and daily measures of success, as opposed to a far out “goal”.

Writing a book is a goal, 5k words a day is a system. One puts you in a constant state of failure with a ton of discouraging ambiguity, the other gives you a metric to measure by.

    Clarity has so many implications.

It can be tempting to plan for the sunny day, that is called a day dream. But we often forget to prepare for the rainy day, that is called effective clarity.
Knowing what stands in your way and how you’ll stay on course.

Very important for any kind of success!

    Thanks for sharing (:
