Day 23 NaPoWriMo
Today’s prompt asks you to write a poem about a particular letter of the alphabet, or perhaps, the letters that form a short word. Doesn’t “S” look sneaky and snakelike? And “W” clearly doesn’t know where it’s going! Think about the shape of the letter(s), and use that as the take-off point for your poem.
You are often perceived as scandalous
S, with your contour and curves.
The world is under your saving grace
W, you catch us right unto your face.
You were used to symbolizing endurance
E, your arms wide open is a true sign of patience
Sometimes though you can be a great source of eagerness
E, with open -arms you bring us all without bitterness
Humanity remembers you every day
T, you remind us to be proactive today
Of the twenty-six letters in the English alphabet
You are our favorite, ‘cos you are the best.
SWEET is your name and that’s what you are,
And your presence made the world better by far.
