Loneliness on a Flowerbed #guardian #writephoto

I sat on the grass
in a mountain of a beautiful illusion
of white petaled roses and dazzling marigolds
I watched the world,
with agonizing pain in my heart,
crumble, disintegrate
and tumble down

I waited for a moment
when things would be the same
back in the days when we could hug
and kiss and gather and
never be charged and never
be scared

I longed for the time,
when homecoming was such a joyous,
most anticipated,
momentous event
among loved ones
and friends

I cried a million tears for all that we have lost
our birthdays and anniversaries
we celebrated alone,
our successful milestones
we failed to share,
our loved ones we,
forever, will never see

I sat on the grass
in a mountain of a beautiful illusion
of white petaled roses and dazzling marigolds
and waited patiently
for my guardian angel to come to tell me
“walk with me dear, it’s over now”

A Flicker of Light #whatdoyousee #hope #light

‘ Twas dark, cold
and eerie
I am scared
scared to death
I could die
any moment
of fear
fear of the unknown
of  not knowing
and why
the stillness of the air
could suck even the sound of the wind
the trees seemed not to rustle
tensed for what was to come
a moment when God seemed
to readjust the world
the colors changed
the air didn’t move
the sounds were muted
the sky was empty
everything was the same
yet different

the world stopped
I waited
you waited
we waited
for that single flicker of light
time passed
time-lapsed
we are still waiting
the world is still waiting
for a single flicker of light

P. S.

May we all find our single flicker of light amidst the pandemic. We pray. We hope. And we believe.

I pray for the world to heal
as we all thrive and struggle
some call for Allah
others bow down
in genuflect
for Jesus Christ
Buddha for the rest
is a symbol of
nirvana
and that’s why
they run unto him
for reverence and devotion

I pray for the world to heal
as we all thrive and struggle
some pray five times
each day
others simply light
a candle
as they bow down
and pray
the rest meditate
to practice
inner reconditioning

I pray for the world to heal
as we all thrive and struggle
it doesn’t really matter
how we worship
if we call for Allah
Jesus Christ or Buddha
or whether we bow down
in prayer or
chant in meditation

We pray, with the hope
that we heal as one
one race
one humanity
one world

you painted my world
with perfect strokes
of beautiful rays
of bursts of sunshine
in my mornings
of verdant meadows
in my life’s landscape
with freshness
and sensitivity
you built
an impeccable bridge
of love and passion
of feelings and satisfaction
and for that
I love you

Come, Sit With Me (my princess)

come sit with me

let’s talk about

how things used to be

when the world was better

and things were nicer

when a walk in the beach

alongside a crowd

was full of fun

bumping at each other

making new friends

along the way

when watching

the sunset

was so much joy

while arguing as who

had the best shot

or who captured

the raging red-orange color

transitioned into a soft

pale yellow hue

as the sky awaits

for night

to take over

and when darkness

sweep over

I’d lay my head on your shoulder

as we watch the world in

beautiful, complete chaos

the waves came crashing

the wind is blowing

slowly

carefully

drifting

into a goodnight sleep

P.S.

I bet this is how my afternoon conversation with my father be like, if he is still alive, with the current pandemic. He will remind me of how we would hurry down the beach (in Boracay, we spent so many summers there) just to witness the crowd gathered waiting for the sunset. We had by then the traditional camera, each of us will try our luck for one best sunset shot which we will only get to see the following day because we need to bring it to the shop for printing purposes.

come sit with me

and let’s talk about

fairy tales and how

dreams do come true

that’s what we always do

in the afternoon

before sunset

just after

an afternoon nap

you told me

of how dreams

could come true

just willingly

use the power of

your imagination

you always say

it will help you create

ideas and thoughts

and beliefs

that other can’t

then plan and act

and take them with you

as you sleep

dream about it

always

believe

it will happen

come sit with me dear

that’s what you always say

to me, back then as a little girl

running wildly

joyfully and playfully

skipping, hopping

from foot to foot

on the ground

then, I’ll sit beside you

and you’d  tell me

for so many times always

of how your own “fairy tale”

came true

and your  “dreams do come true”

happen, and it began

by the birth of a lovely

little cute baby girl

you fondly call

“my princess”

P. S

I loving memory of my father who made me believe in “happy endings”, in “fairy tales” and most especially in “dreams do come true”

I Miss You

20191228_070533

oblivious of the time

and around

I longed for your

hold so tight

your hold that keeps my steady

gaze in place

your hold that once made a

better me

incognizant of how I felt

wanting how much of you

I can take

I never imagined it would be

this dark without you

the darkness that seemed to

topple down my soul

the darkness I once ignored

for you are there

holding closely as I fear

It seems just a while

but no, it’s been a long while

a long while

since you walked away

unnoticed

it numbed my mind

froze my heart

I can’t take you out of

my life

I need to touch you again

I need to hold you close in

my arms

I miss you that’s what

I wanna say

I love you, I want you

to stay

It’s been ten years dad

ten years and I am mad

‘cos I can’t have you back

You will be 70 years old today dad, i hope your having a birthday blast in heaven. ❤❤❤

Rain

IMG-20200510-WA0016
rain falls gently
like my own poetry
each drop, a syllable
a sweet verse of love

each one is a melody
of songs of thoughts
of dreams of ever after
and of love comforting

dead air silence
last drop of rain
a fading memory
of a distant promise

just memories
of many summers ago
then all is still
summer is still
