how mighty
it is my dear
that I dream of you
in my deepest
sleep at night
as my knight
in shining armor
and yet in my waking time
you are but a wretch rascal
how mighty it is, even more, my dear
that you are my rainbow after my rain
yet in my darkest night, you are
my eclipse casting a shadow
upon my world
how mighty
it is oh dear,
that you are the one
I hate to love
and the one
I love to hate
the road indeed
is narrow
as it’s a thin line
between love and hate

Deep poem the different views we have of a person, the Light side in our dreams of who they really are or who we wish them to be. The dark-side the times we are in disagreement with them or is it the truth of who they really are not an illusion. Fine Line between Love and Hate. We always turn to love rather than hate but sometimes the hateful feelings are the truth of who they are.

“hateful feelings are the truth of who they are.”….i agree with this Nanette, the hateful things about them are sometimes the manifestations of who they really are…and then its up to us to whether choose to love them still or not.
Thank you so much always for your profound thoughts shared here…i love it, as i am seeing the different layers of the ideas and opinions which are really helpful.

Excellent, Mich! You’ve expressed so well something we’ve all encountered. We’ve all had someone(or maybe more than one someone) that fits this that came into our lives. 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤
PS…makes me think of the lyrics from a Queen song…
"I can't live with you, but I can't live without you
I can't breathe if you stay, but I can't bear you to go away…."
Queen, "I Can't Live With You"

Excellent. It’s a thin line. Is it with someone we are obsessed with?
LikeLiked by 1 person
It doesnt have to be with someone you are obsessee with. It could be your friend, a relative; these are the potential people who can also trigger that kind of feeling from you.

Still, too much expectation from any relationship may cause it. My opinion, not to hurt anyone.

What a wonderful poem this is, Mich! It brings back deep and rather uncomfortable memories; to stir something so deep is very powerful.
Like a few other folk I was also remembering a song as I read your poem, and then the last two lines came up: ‘It’s a thin line between love and hate.’ I was thinking of the version by The Pretenders rather than that by Annie Lennox. Can I add to your playlist? It’s one of my very favourite songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pCCdclkdLY
