it’s 3 am and
they’re playing our song
our song that has been
the anthem of my soul
the melody that lulls me to sleep
and tuck me goodnight
yet, here i am
wide awake,
not a sleep wink
I toss and turn, ’till
the break of dawn
night passes by
watching, observing
passerines continue
their migration flights
throughout the night
upon the darkest
moonless sky
as my desolate
and inquisitive
heart ponders
when will we ever
get to sing our song
together again
once more

I hope hope hope you will get to sing your song together again SOON! 🙂
I know you are deeply missing your beloved loved ones. I hope you can rest in their love for you and get a good nights sleep tonight! 🙂
Songs are so sensory…and when we hear them we can remember times, people, feelings, etc. 🙂 I love that each person has songs that become the “soundtrack” of their life.
(((HUGS))) ❤ 🙂
PS…I'm sorry my doggie post made you sad. 😦 I left you a comment there to your comment. 🙂
PSS…I miss family, too…we were supposed to have a family reunion in June and it had to be cancelled. 😦 Many of them live so far away we only get to see each other that one time each year. 😦

Thank you Carolyn….this pandemic is not going anywhere soon and its really becoming tougher each day.. but as kate said…better that way to ensure everyone is safe.
Distance maybe really heartbreaking but we will always be reminded of our love for each other and how we are loved in return and i believe this is the moment too when i can proudly say i love everyone in the best possible way i can.
And oh, will go check your doggie reply…yeah my dobberman is a bit old now and i think age and loneliness as well is creeping through his being.

I hope you get to be with your loved ones soon. I hope you are able to sleep. I seem to be waking up earlier these days. I have to tell myself to go to bed and forcefully shut my eyes. Its the effect of the pandemic. Beautiful poem. I guess a lot of us are going through it.Stay safe Mich.
