A Hundred Million Love Songs

A Hundred Million Love Songs

there are over a hundred million

love songs

and I could dedicate each for you

each and everyday

for you are my greatest love

the poetry I write

and the melody of my heart

there are over a hundred million

love songs

and I could sing each one for you

each and everyday

for when I think of you

I think of the greatest love song

ever written

there are over a hundred million

love songs

and I could mash them up for you

each and everyday

for when I see you

I see nothing but a collection of the

greatest hits the world

has fallen in love with over the years

there are over a hundred million

love songs

and I could have them as our song

each and everyday

for you remind me of not one

not just one , but of all the beautiful

love songs of yesteryears and today

‘cos baby “no one’s ever touched me like the way you touch me”, that for me

is pure magic, pure love

in a song, your song, my song

our song

(You Are the Love of My Life -by Roberta Flack, George Benson)

This is one of the most iconic love songs of the 80s. I was a little girl then, but I heard it often played on the radio.

Kate’s Friday Fun https://aroused.blog/2021/01/17/friday-fun-icons/ is about icon – an icon or an emblem are often used to define
a place, a movement, tribe, religion or business.

I chose to share this song along with my poem because I believe love in any form/s remains to be the best “icon”, the best symbol humanity has ever had over the years. And songs as well as poems are and will forever be one of the greatest expressions of love.

  1. The thought of taking the millions of love songs and mashing them up already shows great love, and to put the thoughts poetically shows you are a zillionaire in love. This dedication says what can’t be sung.🌹
