Poet’s Heart

to write is to dream

and to dream is to write

wide awake or

deep asleep

a poet’s heart dreams

forging a link

a link

between the

imagery and symbolism

and the power of words

creative sparks fly

love lives

hope survives

the universe agrees

to what the poet’s heart’s desires

my poet heart desires

no one but you

“when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”, The Alchemist, 2006

NaPoWriMo Day 6 – https://www.napowrimo.net/1942-2/

Our prompt yesterday asked you to take inspiration from another poem, and today’s continues in the same vein. This prompt, which comes from Holly Lyn Walrath, is pretty simple.

Go to a book you love. Find a short line that strikes you. Make that line the title of your poem. Write a poem inspired by the line. Then, after you’ve finished, change the title completely.
