Promises And Tales

tell me, dear, tell me more
of the promises and tales, we once made
of how we’ve created a world
a world full of touches of laughter beyond tears
a world full of joys beyond sadness
and a world, where it only begins and ends
with a loving thought for each other

tell me, dear, tell me more
of the promises and tales, we once made
while we walk along the highways
and crossroads, in between random stories
and out-of – this world arguments
where we agreed that we don’t always agree, but we settled to end
with a smile and a silent scream for love

tell me, dear, tell me more
of the promises and tales, we once made
in between long drives, watching sunsets and boulevards, where the world is endless
and with you, dreams don’t have limits
and hopes are full of possibilities
and love, oh, love makes me breathless

so,

sit beside me now,
let’s watch together the sun triumphantly appears over a clouded sky

then,

tell me, dear, tell me more
of the promises and tales
we once made

hold my hand
tightly
and
never let go

this time

  1. Oh Mich, this is exquisitely beautiful, and I had to reach for the tissue box, as these lines chimed the bells in my heart … 😍

  2. This is a perfect description of a mature love – one that has taken the time to make the dreams and promises and developed the comfort and confidence to ask for a reiteration of the earlier hopes! You wove this one so delicately!!

    1. Yay so happy for your comment Val thank you so much..i think as we mature, we realize and see how much of those earlier promises and dreams have already happened and yet again, never too late to ask and figure out if we miss anything..

  5. This is beautiful, what love and emotion felt words🌹. The agreeable arguments that ended with the agree to disagree only so love could conquer was a beautiful verse indeed. The sunsets and handholding and promises whispered from within, this was lovely just like you. Wonderful way to grab emotion and put it on paper.β™₯️🌹
