An Ode to the Dragon

tycoons of the entertianment industry
made a blasphemy out of you for creating
an image, an image that may not
really be true

you are feared by many, in the movies
in the novels. you are the  man – eating
ferocious, savage beast, killing people
whenever possible

you made a few people rich though,
as you are little boys’ favorite merchandise
you are everywhere, in every toy store
around the world

you have made appearances in almost
everything, in the name of entertainment
and, yet, it’s not over, look where you are now

placed on top of the world.
to be feared?
to be adored?

i really don’t know.

‘cos

i could hear you speak of kindness
in my heart, in my soul

What a wonderful ode to the dragon, SweetMich! Such a great write! πŸ™‚
I’ve always loved dragons and I’ve always enjoyed stories, films, etc., where the dragon was kind and helpful. πŸ™‚

  2. I think if you’d like to see dragons in a delightful light you might enjoy the Dragons Riders of Pern.
‘Dragonriders of Pern is a science fantasy series written primarily by American-Irish author Anne McCaffrey’

This morning, I somehow caught a relative of a dragon (a garden snake) on a branch that the storm knocked down last night. I’d like to think if the snake was in the middle of the yard that I brought it to a safer spot. πŸ˜€
