Whisper

Whisper

you whisper “i love you baby” in my ear

“your voice is warm and tender” and

“when you put your arms around me,

you let me know there’s nothing in this world i can’t do.”

‘cos “i’ve known it from the moment that we met

no doubt in my mind where you belong”

yes you belong only to me “and i want to spend my life with you”

baby, “i never loved someone the way that i love you”

you whisper “i will be loving you ’til we’re 70”

my heart skips a beat, my heart flutters

my mind screams of forever, a forever in time

“so it goes some things are meant to be”

baby, “this is our fate, i’m yours”

“you’re my end and my beginning”

“you’ll always be a part of me i’m part of you indefinitely”

you whisper “marry me”, the sweetest most endearing

thing i ever heard my whole life had, and so i said yes, for

“in your heart, i see the start of every night and every day”

so, baby stay with me, live with me,

i really would love to hear you whisper in my ear

how much you love me, always and forever

This is a Cento, I saw this form in kate’s blog, and I thought its a fun form. (https://aroused.blog/2021/09/30/love-story/) Also, Punam’s take on this is brilliant (https://paeansunpluggedblog.wordpress.com/2021/09/29/a-lyrical-love-story/) so I gave it a try.

cento is a poetical work wholly composed of verses or passages taken from other authors. I chose to take verses from different songs as indicated below:

”I love you, baby” Frank Sinatra

“Power of Love” Celine Dion

”Somebody Like You” Keith Urban,

“Make You Feel My Love” by Adele

“Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green

“Fallin'” by Alicia Keys

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran

“Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley

“I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz

“All of Me” by John Legend

“Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey

“Marry Me” Bruno Mars

“The Best” by Tina Turner

  1. Wonderful Cento! Everyone is rocking these! I guess McCartney was right – the world DOES need more silly love songs! (especially if they become fodder for such good poetry!)

The songs are wonderful! All seem to have to do with ❤ !!! 🙂 So many are fave songs of mine! Now I hear Ed Sheeran singing in my head…
"S honey now Take me into your loving arms Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart I'm thinking out loud Maybe we found love right where we are…"
