A Lifetime

A Lifetime

isn’t it odd that we are bound to have a list
of the things we wanna do before we go?

isn’t it peculiar that we do good deeds
because we want to be remembered?

what if we do things just as we want it to be
and just carry on with the daily life with glee?

what if we just say something nice
to anyone and everyone no dice?

we can try some random acts of kindness
no cameras, no other people to praise

we could volunteer in our community
and spread love around the city

we could visit or meet up with old friends
and reconnect with them it would be the best

or maybe, just maybe, we could love with all our hearts
no ifs, no buts, just take the chance and start

maybe then we’ll know what living truly means
that is letting go of our “before i die” list

after all who needs a list when we have
a lifetime of memories to make?

so baby, hold my hand and let’s liveΒ
a lifetime together forever

  6. Great questions! Great suggestions/solutions!
While many focus their time and energy and money on themselves and what they want…Their Bucket List. We should make sure we focus those things outwardly, too, with open minds, hearts, arms, and hands! πŸ™‚ I think THE best memories are always the ones where we helped others, spent time with others, gave to others. πŸ™‚

Love it! Living in the now and not trying to get specific tasks done on a bucket list seems the happier way to live – especially when you have your true love along for the ride!

So much to be said for living in the present. Your comment “no cameras” resonates with me as I prefer to enjoy small social gatherings with friends who want to enjoy the present, and avoid the endless stream of video-taking for Instagram and WhatsApp that accompanies some social groups these days. Nice writing!

The lines, “what if we do things just as we want it to be
and just carry on with the daily life with glee?” are so wonderfully expressed.
A life of no expectations and just being who we want to be; and when we are truly happy inside, there will be happiness outside and around us too.

  16. So true. We don’t need to make a list when we can just LIVE all the things that are important. It’s also true that loving with all our hearts is taking a chance, but it’s always worth it.
