You are the Reason #whatdoyousee

the world is in need

of a gentle touch

and a gentle smile,

a kind heart

and a kind reminder

and for whatever reason

you remain my gentle touch

my gentle smile;

my kind heart

and my kind reminder

you are after all my poetry

my lovely verses and metaphors

my song, my melody, and my symphony

you are my story

and you are always and forever

the greatest love of my life

The image shows a baby monkey, admiring the view from above the tree. I could almost see his eyes glow with so much joy. He is so adorable and so cute. And I am reminded of all the good reasons that made me smile amidst the pandemic.

My World

when
the world
ceased
mine kept goin’
armed with
my mighty pen
and divergent mind
I perceived my world
in a new and different way
finding new patterns
making new connections
turning ideas into reality
making dreams come true

when the
whole world
was grieving
I dared not,
for so many reasons
and the best of
that many reasons
is you
my muse,
my poetry,
my world, and
the love of my life

Many of us have been devastated by the current worldwide pandemic brought about by COVID 19.  some lost their jobs, others were lockdown, while others lost a loved one over the disease or a survivor themselves, but I believe that if there is one common ground that we all share right now is the sad reality that we are apart from our loved ones, friends and even relatives. The strict social distancing policy as part of prevention stops us from seeing or meeting relatives and friends anytime. Unfortunately for others, they have been separated by distance and are unable to travel back home.

This pandemic will run down the history of humanity in as far as it can be recorded. And as devastating as it is, we should not allow this to topple down our spirits, enjoy our lives and have fun with people around us, or in short simply make the most of what we have at the moment, and who we have around.

I have not seen my daughters for months now because of the pandemic, and to say that I miss them is already an understatement because what I feel right now, no amount of words in the dictionary would best fit in to describe.  But nevertheless, life goes on, and we have so many reasons to go on with our lives and make the most out of our current situation.

How am I coping during this pandemic? How I enjoy and have fun with my life in a way most people don’t?

Here are  simple ways you can enjoy and have fun, starting today: (Linking to kate’s Friday Fun – https://aroused.blog/2020/07/11/friday-fun-funny/)

1. Improve your Craft

What are you good at? Cooking? Writing? Painting? Anything that you believed you are good at but just never had the chance to practice and improve due to some obligations and responsibilities that you were committed before the pandemic. If you are a good cook, maybe its time you start a food delivery business. I know of some friends who did that during the pandemic. And they were doing well so far, obviously because people would rather stay at home and order food. Simple to complex menu and dishes are already being ordered and delivered nowadays. If you are a creative person, maybe its time to master your art. There are available online classes that can help you hone your craft.

I turned this pandemic into my greatest advantage, as I have enough time to write. It was during this time that I had made a few international submissions of my poems and have gotten published. If not for the pandemic, I would honestly not have the same opportunity in terms of “time”

2. Just Relax

Find a way to relax and reconnect with ourselves and our inner identity.  Who knows you might actually have already lost your real identity  (https://amanpan.com/2020/07/13/eugis-weekly-prompt-identity-july-13-2020/)because you were so busy dreaming the dreams of other people and chasing career opportunities that were not actually meant for you. So, maybe its time to relax and take a moment to get to know yourself again.

3. Avoid Watching/Reading the News.

There are so much drama and hype online and even offline about the current pandemic. Watching it and following the news every single day, won’t do you good, rather it will add up to your anxiety and will eventually prevent you from being productive.

4. Create Positive Relationships

Make sure you have time to reconnect to people who are making a positive impact on your life. It’s time to identify the ones creating a positive impact and the ones giving you the negative impact, then maybe, nurture those positive relationships and let go of the ones who aren’t doing you good or helping you become a better person.

5. Make a Wish List

Whenever you want to do something, try a new thing, visit a new place, or even simply look for your long lost friend, write it down. Making a list of the things we want and we desire will fuel our hopes that one day we will be able to do it. It makes us dream. And dreams, no matter how big will eventually come true if accompanied by hard work, determination, and proper motivation.

10. Be Active

If you are not a fitness enthusiast, then maybe it’s time you become one. Try yoga, run around your neighborhood, do strength, and toning exercise at home. All these are available online for beginners like you who want to try for the first time. No matter what we say, we all know exercise is and will always be good for our health and our total well being.

11. Be Grateful Always

The pandemic is devastating, yes it’s true. But, there are other things in life that we should be thankful for and grateful for.  Just give thanks, always.

12. Remember Everything Has Its End

The major factor in enjoying life is to accept the fact that no matter what we do and no matter how much we try, some things and circumstances are beyond our control. And so it is important also to remember that the pandemic like anything else will also have its end. We are faced with a very challenging situation, but remember that life is one big cycle of ups and downs.

13. Allow Yourself to be Joyful

I have heard so many people complain about the difficulties of life, and yet they allow themselves to be involved in the drama of life. Maybe it’s time to enjoy a calm, life. Give yourself the chance to enjoy a drama-free life and focus on the simple joys of life every day.

I Love Dearly as a Rose

I bring joy, love, and compassion and no amount of hurt or disappointment will change that

IMG-52bc4fffd0898fd93919cbc8a0ca1bf0-V

 I am a lovely

luminous rose

just thinking

about you

spreading happiness

wherever one finds it

though fragile and delicate

I manage to find

a precious place in my heart

for you with my gentle

pervading

sweet perfume

This old world that we’re livin’ in
Is might hard to beat.
You get a thorn with every Rose
But – ain’t the roses sweet?”
-Frank Stanton

Every rose has indeed its thorn. And as painful as it is when we are accidentally pricked by its thorn, we get closer to it and smell its sweet delicate scent and the pain would somehow go away. As we face COVID 19; no matter how difficult the situation is and no matter how heartbreaking it seems, let us not forget that this too will go away. This too will end. Remember every beautiful rose has its thorn. We will all heal together as one. Stronger, better, more resilient, and lovely as a rose.

As we adore photos of beautiful flowers and flower gardens;  we also love to read poetry and prose about flowers and even nature. In just a few powerful words, our mind creates its own image and invigorates our senses, whisking us away to that endless flower field or basking in the sun with our hands in the garden.

There’s just something so intimate about letting our imaginations run freely.

So, as we are all locked down in our homes let our imaginations run freely. You will never realize how good it will make you feel unless you try.

Sending more love and prayers to our frontliners💖💖💖🙏🙏
And flowers too to make them feel better
🌻🌻🌻🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹

As Long As

IMG-5084c69a9ddec36ff9bb611e7d452425-V

I am a ray of sunlight slowly drifting away without you

As long as I have my dreams

as long as I have my thoughts

as long as I remember

I will love you

As long as my eyes can see

and  my ears can hear

and my lips can speak

I will love you

As long as my  heart feels

my soul stirs within me

my imagination will hold you

I will love you

As long as  time exists

as long as love is true

as long as there is you

as long as I breath

of love and affection

I will love you

because

you love me too

No man is an Island – Thomas Merton

Our mental health emotional health, as well as our personal well being, are tied up in the quality of our personal relationships. The more closely we are connected to the people we love and adore the happier we feel and the more personal satisfaction and contentment we have in our lives. Most people say that the connection and shared enjoyment with their loved ones are their most important life experiences.

It is from the web of our relationships and connections with other people that we draw our strength. Such communities can lift us when we are down and give us the capacity to deal with whatever challenges come our way.

Sadly, with the current health crisis, we are facing, these special and important relationships we have are being put at test. The situation has separated us from our loved one and even our friends. And whether we like it or not the simple handshake and a kiss on the cheeks will no longer be observed for as long as we don’t know yet.

This is our new normal now. Away from home; separated from our loved ones; no gestures of love and no endearing moments.

I Miss You

IMG-20190818-WA0001

I am an empty chair amidst a lovely view without you

it’s most painful that I miss you
a silent ache cries out my heart
unbearable, thoughts of you
makes it harder to breath

the saddest part is I know
you are out there somewhere
but I cannot look into your eyes
and say how badly I want you
at this point

missing you is the sweetest
yet most heartbreaking pain
I taste my own tears
even when I smile

and my life  appears
worse than anything
I miss you and
its absolute pain

P.S.

Sending more love and prayer to all our front liners and to all those who are away from home and from their love ones 💗💗💗

Come Rain and Sunshine

20200308_071802

(I am a dark sky without you)

hear me as I cry for your sweet agonizing ray
I beg the sun to shine
as you stay by in time.
oh, the rain came sweeping down
as blood oozes
through my vein
yearning
for your
sweet embrace
no, not this time
never my love,
for no one is bound to know
how prepared I can be
when you go
forever will I be doomed

please, don’t
never go
stay
just for a moment

come rain and sunshine
in darkness and in light
all through my life
I will love thee
eternally forever
yours
Now I beg, rain please don’t go!

P.S.

We remember and pray for all those mourning the demise of a loved one because of COVID 19. We also remember and pray for all those who can’t be with their loved ones in this moment of darkness.

To be alone is sad; to be sick and alone is even devastating

More love on your way guys as we face the current health scare💓💓💓

Stay at home. Stay healthy. And remember in time, we will all be fine again.

Be safe☺

I am Yours

I Am Yours
I can go anywhere
and I can be lost
somewhere
but all I ever wanna be
is where you are
and be lost in your arms
for can I see
rainbows
and bursts of sunshine
and butterflies
all through your eyes
and it doesn’t
matter where you are
for I am yours
and you
are mine

IMG-20200221-WA0002
This is a photo taken by my lovely daughter Allana, sunset along the highway of Perak. We called it “gloomy sunset”, contrary to the usual bold yellow, or bold red sunsets. Even the sunset is looking sad and gloomy, considering all of what’s happening lately. And even the sunset is missing the world that it used to be; vibrant, happy, jolly, and just full of energy and love.

It is in the same way when we miss somebody. Missing someone is the worst and best feeling one could ever have.  It is the worst feeling because you know you cannot do anything about it, but wait with butterflies in your stomach for the moment you will be together again. It is the best feeling because missing a person is a guarantee that you truly love and are in love with the person.  And as you miss your beloved you know that you too are being missed and remembered.

Amidst the COVID 19 crisis, when everyone else seems to panic and worry, let us all just pause for a while and be reminded of the many good things we have. And for as long as we keep in mind and practice all the necessary precautionary measures given and directed by our local health providers, we will be fine.

And as this crisis escalates we just need to feel our love for all of our loved ones who cannot be with us because of travel bans and travel restrictions.

Let us feel their love and our love in return in every single moment we remember and we miss them.

We pray and we believe and that in time, the world will again be a better place to live.

Keep the love burning. Keep missing your love ones  ❤❤❤

Keep the faith and believe that miracles do happen 😊😊😊

Attempt

Attempt

quivering voice torn into pieces
jammed words dashingly sealed
tongue-tied feelings suppressed
a power uproars
whispered unto thyself
acclaimed thy heart
longing to blaze
conformed thy faith
declared thy attempt
to bestow equity
thy affectionate feeling
to love
forever

IMG-20191027-WA0017

My lovely daughter Allana took this photo some time ago. I promised her I’d write a poem about rainbow; but I haven’t written one yet, until today. Well technically it’s not about the rainbow, but they say “there’s always a rainbow after the rain”. And I realized that every opportunity or attempt to do something whether for our family, our friends, ourselves is a chance to recognize that rainbow. Sometimes, we struggle to accomplish something, we give up easily on life, on love. Why? Because we failed to recognize the simple fact that rainbow only appears after a terrible rain. In life, we have problems, we have difficulties and in love, we have worries, we have concerns and we have fears, these are our “heavy rains”, our “storms” and sometimes, the “wind” that will blow our faith and topple us down. But remember, “there’s always a rainbow after the rain”.

May we all enthusiastically wait for the “rainbow” to come. Meanwhile, we should never give up. Never give up on life and on love. It will come in time and when you needed it the most.

And, as we are all facing the worldwide crisis and threat of the virus COVID 19, may we all keep our faith and believe. Believe that this too will fade away.

Believe in the rainbow.💛💛💛💛
