bewildered,
baffled, perplexed
upon the world and
beyond, the love we knew
is to hug,  touch lovingly
lean in, hold and make eye contact
a little bit closer builds affection
fondness, attachment, and besottedness
love, in itself, is already tricky
actions, endearments, simplify it
how is love now? six feet apart?
like the Hollywood movie?
will meter stick be part
along with the mask
new normal fad
I love you, six

I was a dreamer, back then as a kid

Reminds you of Belle from

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”

Dad, I was your princess always

Curiosity is innate in me

You applaud me for that, how proud you are.

It’s been

Years you’re gone

I remembered

We dream together

To Disneyland, we go

That didn’t happen you’re gone

“I went to Dad, with my princesses”

They too are dreamers, like you and I

We dream we soar, and we make it happen

Who I grew up to be

I am always a dreamer

With a great sense of optimism

Empowered, vested and entitled

I

see you

I felt you

as I move fast

the downtown alley

your beautiful I know

the scent of you smell hunts me

everywhere I go you are there

I feel you in all of my senses

you’re just like a detail in the fabric

gone

as worn

drenched when soaked

tattered in time

broken in pieces

drained where the water flows

forgotten in time you go

remembered once but never twice

held once more felt over smelled again

for you are a detail in the fabric.
