Change

“If you want to achieve what you’ve never achieve before you have to become who you’ve never become before” – Brian Tracy, Maximum Achievement

New year signals
New beginnings
New oppurtunitites
And new challenges

So, one often wonder
Will this year be kinder?
Will there be better opportunities?
Will there be lesser challenges?

So, one often promise
To move forward
Leave the past behind
And work on for a better future.

But moving forward
And leaving the past behind
Don’t always guarantee
a better or kinder new year

Sadly because
One only moves forward
One only leaves the past behind
But never change

Changing the way we think
And the way we act
Is the best way to expect
A better, kinder, new year

So cheers to a new year, a new life, and a new beginning.

Photos are of Luwak coffee farm, in Abian Subak Agrotourism Bali. If you’re a coffee enthusiast and want to experience the making of the most expensive coffee in the world, Luwak coffee while visiting Bali, include it in your tour.

We went to Abian Subak Agrotourism where we had Luwak coffee tasting and witnessed their traditional way of hand pounding the coffee beans. It was the best way to experience Luwak coffee for the first time.

Peace (for 2020)

they say peace is the absence of war
when no nation is task
to risk its citizen’s life,
when guns are a thing of the past
and soldiers are but your friendly neighbors marching.

they say peace is understanding one another
when no man debates
or no family disagrees
when arguement is a only a political thing
and politicians
are but your friendly neighbors
making common decisions.

they say peace is being friends
with everyone
when no one is ostracizing someone
when prejudice is a thing
of centuries ago,
and racial discrimination
is but a neighborhood’s friendly conversation idea.

but peace is not just the absence of war
nor simply the need to understand
each other
or being friends with everyone
it is our ability to maintain inner peace and balance
in the presence of war,
conflict and misunderstanding.

our world is but a reflection
of the inner state of humanity
on a collective level
If there were peace within humanity,
our world would be at peace.

Have a PEACEFUL and BLESSED 2020 everyone!!!

Ode to the Sunset (in Bali)

Ode To The Sunset (in Bali)

20191227_182636

oh, sun so beautiful
when you set
you silenced
everyone
in a place so crowded
they gaze and marvel at you
with intense in all its glory
while i stood quietly
in awe
in amazement
in wonder
you make my heartbeat
one with the waves splashing
and for the first time in a long while
you calm the storm raging in me
my heart that was once in fury
is now tempered.

oh, sun so beautiful when you set
you bring the magic back in me.

Photos are of beautiful (beautiful is not even enough to describe it) sunset in Bali.

Bali has long been a popular travel destination,  known for its beautiful beaches, great food and incredibly welcoming ( and i meant it with all my heart) people.

Another big Bali draw is the sunset and the plethora of stunning locations to watch them from. No visit to the island is complete without gazing from a beach, a cliff or jungle as the sun disappears into a colorful haze.

Apart from the magnificent sunset, i noticed that though the beach is crowded, yet not a noise was made as we all await for the sun to set. The world stops for a moment. It was so quiet;  so quiet we only hear the wind blowing and  the waves splashing.

P.S.

You can now add writing poetry to your “must do list in Bali”.  Find a spot amidst the crowd and write.

Distance

Between heaven and earth
a story is unearth
Between past and present
a sailing is sent
Between here and there
a distance is clear
Between a moment and forever
a struggle so clear

Sometimes heaven and earth met
when a story is broken and lit
Sometimes past and present collide
when the sailing subside
Sometimes here and there is near
when the view is clearer
Sometimes a moment and forever is eternity
when the struggles become infinity

So move heaven and earth boldly
for your story to be told oddly
So hold the past and present sincerely
for your sailing to be done completely
So break the here and there completely
for your distance to be moved effortlessly
So create a moment and forever lovingly
for your struggles to be over definitely

The photos are the spectacular view of Uluwatu Temple, in Bali.

It has a remarkable high setting at the edge of a cliff and overlooking the waves of the Indian Ocean.

Its gives you a great sense of spiritual renewal regardless of your religious affinity. The sound of the splashing waves makes you in closer contact with the unknown.

It is without a doubt a manifestation of the wonders of nature.

One attraction not to miss in Uluwatu Temple is the traditional Balinese dance call Kecak dance which is scheduled after the sunset.

These performances are obviously for tourist benefit only, and are not spiritually significant to the temple.

It is worthy to note that there’s no public transportation to get to Uluwatu Temple and going back into town will be difficult without any prearranged ride or taxi. A guide is not necessary but can be helpful.

P.S.

It is a beautiful place to find a quiet spot and write poetry

Mama

I took the wrong lane,

I traveled the wrong path,

I trudged the wrong way,

But

Baby i made it to you,

Mama was there every step

of my way.

Turi Beach – Batam, Indonesia

IMG_3257[1]Our out of the country annual summer vacation is nearing its end; and what better way to culminate it than spending the weekend in an exclusive resort in Indonesia – Turi Beach Resort. I listed down below five reasons why i should be back or say, why you should visit yourself.

1. NATURE IN ITS GLORIOUS FORM

trees swaying, how do you do?

birds chirping, come and enjoy,

monkeys waving, hello to you,

flowers smiling, welcome too.

a wonderful place to reconnect withe nature. …a five story building underneath the mountain overlooking a seamless view of the ocean facing Malaysia (if my geography is correct).

2. FOOD IS SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIGOCIOUS

telur tersembunyi is great,

mei goreng is a real treat,

nasi goreng is delectable,

sotong goreng is impeccable.

Indonesian cuisine at its best. You will be greeted by a delicious icy cold ginger juice as a complimentary welcome drink…breakfast is good enough to fill your stomach to cover up even until lunch….dinner might bring your blood pressure high ( the price is quite outrageous..)but you will eventually get over it as you dine and listen to the live performance of the band, with a vocalist whose vocal prowess is really good. The food? its worth the prize.

3. THE AFTERNOON WALK

water may not be my friend,

but its inviting, you wanna spend

some time alone in the beach,

or even in the pool around your reach.

You will enjoy a relaxing morning or afternoon walk smelling the breath of fresh air…hearing the splashing of the water slowly creeping through the shore…resting your eyes on the view; the sparkling blue water, crystal clear sky, healthy green garden, not to forget the smiles in each guest’s face – a manifestation of a beautiful day that was.

4. SATURDAY BARBECUE BUFFET DINNER

nothing beats chicken satay for dinner,

nor the mouthwatering ikan bakar,

or better yet a table filled with desserts,

you’ll forget your on a diet so feast.

Saturday night dinner is indeed worth the price… there’s just so much food to choose from..and to double the treat, they actually got to pick guests who will win certain prizes from the resort. Some got a one hour spa, dinner for two, an hour recreational activity, one hour KTV, and i can’t forget the scream when one of the guests won an overnight stay in the hotel for two, for free…i didn’t win though, but i almost win after all.. i enjoyed the night..

5. LIVE BAND – BATIK BAND

what is dinner without music?

its a live band so don’t panic,

when the price makes you turn back,

just go ahead and be tact.

The vocalist sings refreshingly good. It makes you forget the bill your about to get; and to my surprise, she sings English popular songs (i suppose she’s Indonesian)- so it makes her even more likeable and easy to sing and dance along with, giving you reason to shed off the initial calories you’ve had so you can have another round of sumptuous meal.. its buffet dinner so basically .. eat all you can…

for some spending the weekend here may cost them a fortune..but well..if you have..of course a fortune why not spend it here…its an exclusive resort, making it less crowded and less busy. It gives you time to really relax and enjoy your stay. Its free from the noise in the city….no fancy coffee shops.. no shopping… no towering buildings crowding your mind.. its just you, your love ones, the nature, the few people…..having a quite wonderful moment all together. oh by the way, i love the little nipa hut …its a beautiful place to create wonderful memories with your love ones..i just did…

P.s. I’ve been to different resorts, and hotels for that matter…(i have traveled a lot over the years) …but this one will surely be on my “be back” list….

ikan goreng

Prepared to Delight

If i change my ways,
will you appreciate me?
will i be good enough?
will you finally set me free?
from this cage so dark and muddy?
tied down by guilt, I’m trapped.

If i promise i’ll improve,
will you tell me something shrewd?
will you lie to me and say,
that one day i’ll have my way?
will you free me from this bondage?
or will you just increase the pain?

If i do my best and learn,
how the world can live alone,
will you show me the reality,
that is lived out by humanity?
will you finally agree,
that i’m capable of being me,
without the need of your entity?

– says the fish about to be served over a sumptuous meal-

Ikan goreng is an Indonesian version of fried fish. Its delicious and crispy. For those who are not fond of fish, this one is s must try- you’ll forget it’s actually a fish. I guarantee you..
.my daughter and husband who both are not a fish lover,…. when they first tried this one…..they have forgotten thier not so good relationship with fish.

Me, on the other hand was able to see through beyond this deliciously fried fish. …
