My Dear Summer, Rain and Goodbye #whatdoyousee

Oh, my dear summer
and rain
and goodbye
why did you conspire
to break my heart
altogether at once
why do I have to remember
you both, as
the happiest
and the saddest
memory
like a photograph
capturing
every smile
not knowing
the loneliness
behind
the gloomy feeling
after each radiant
and charming smile
my dearest summer, rain
and goodbye please cease
to connive and stop breaking my heart
altogether, at once

Rain

IMG-20200510-WA0016
rain falls gently
like my own poetry
each drop, a syllable
a sweet verse of love

each one is a melody
of songs of thoughts
of dreams of ever after
and of love comforting

dead air silence
last drop of rain
a fading memory
of a distant promise

just memories
of many summers ago
then all is still
summer is still

Summer Rain

20170328_170836

every drop of the rain is every bit of my pain

You held my hand tight
As you bid goodbye
It was hard
It was insane…

You kissed me softly
with a wimping cry
It froze my mind
It broke my heart…

You strained me in your embrace
clasped me in your arms
It pricked me
It stung me…

Then it rained on a summer afternoon
P.S.

This is an old poem i wrote  years ago in memory of my beloved papa who passed away that summer.

I am reposting it for this week’s World of Words prompt: বৃষ্টি, which is a Bengali word that means “rain”.

Every week, Rosemarie (of A Reading Writer), Maria (of Doodle Scribbles), and Jade of  https://jademwong.wordpress.com/2020/03/30/poetry-wash-away/ will post a word from a different country in the world.

Come Rain and Sunshine

20200308_071802

(I am a dark sky without you)

hear me as I cry for your sweet agonizing ray
I beg the sun to shine
as you stay by in time.
oh, the rain came sweeping down
as blood oozes
through my vein
yearning
for your
sweet embrace
no, not this time
never my love,
for no one is bound to know
how prepared I can be
when you go
forever will I be doomed

please, don’t
never go
stay
just for a moment

come rain and sunshine
in darkness and in light
all through my life
I will love thee
eternally forever
yours
Now I beg, rain please don’t go!

P.S.

We remember and pray for all those mourning the demise of a loved one because of COVID 19. We also remember and pray for all those who can’t be with their loved ones in this moment of darkness.

To be alone is sad; to be sick and alone is even devastating

More love on your way guys as we face the current health scare💓💓💓

Stay at home. Stay healthy. And remember in time, we will all be fine again.

Be safe☺

35 Degrees

I haven’t written anything for a long time. I am writing back today in honor of my father whose death anniversary we are commemorating.

My father gave me my first book, my first writing material and my first edited letter. Yes, you read it right  “edited letter”.  Whenever i was away from home back then i will write him a letter and he will send it back to me with corresponding corrections.

He gave me the best gift – the gift of words. We would play scrabble together. I never won; not that he was very competetive but simply because he wanted me to learn play up with words and hopefully win (it never happened; he was a walking dictionary). We would buy newspapers everyday only to keep up with the daily crossword puzzle challenge.

He once told me i have the gift of imagination. And he said ” write where your imagination leads you.” Later in life when i began writing in school he told me “now is the time for you to write where your heart leads you; the power of our imagination is so strong but the power of our hearts where love resides is stronger.”

35 Degrees

Its 35 degrees on a hot summer day

No one anticipated it

Nobody expected  it would come

But it happened

It rained

On a 35 degrees hot summer day

Nobody anticipated

No one expected

Yet it happened

Just as you went away

On a 35 degrees hot summer day

For Once – Ghazal

No one doubted your love, not once

you will never escape from our memory, not once.

Thank you papa for the wonderful gift you left behind. You will forever live in my words and you will forever come alive in my imagination but i assure you, you will always and forever be in my heart where love resides eternally.
I would like to thank my dear followers for standing by while i was away. Special thanks to Kate of https://aroused.blog , Gina of https://alifelesslivedblog.wordpress.com, Irma of Iidorun, https://iidorun.wordpress.com, Jules of dailyjewelsbyjules.wordpress.com

Mysterious Rain

You are a picture of quiet serenity

Plunge into darkness

Out of the blue

And…on a hot

weary afternoon

Amidst silence

And shimmering heat

You become hot as a horseradish

Steamy as a terrarium

Then you gently thickened

You poured…

That mysterious rain

On a scorching summer afternoon

p.s.

the heat is on…its summer…but a little rain could be mysteriously stunning…

There you go..another “Summer Rain”.

…a steamy, hot summer late afternoon in Singapore. ..

My Summer Rain

Love goes, they say

When the pain of loving

Is too much to bear

When you

Can hope no more

Wish no more

When the heart

finally gets tired…

Of hoping…

Of dreaming…

Of waiting…

Then love goes…

My love, I say will never go.

Even when it has been very painful

Or too much to hold still

Because all I

Wanna do is

Wish for more.

My heart will never be tired

Of hoping…

Of dreaming…

Of waiting…

My love will never go

‘Cos I found the summer rain in you

P.S.

I have been doing this summer rain theme for quite a while..and it has inspired me so much that I just can’t stop yet.

I wish you find your “Summer Rain” too

***A beautiful afternoon Summer Rain in Singapore***

O, Summer Rain Don’t Go

Loveless tide swept

In the seashore

Where I once stand

Alone and unsure

There, we’re together

Walking by the shore

Looking gently at the sea

Gazing through your smile

Our eyes met then

Our hearts touched

As deeply we felt

That loving feeling within

But now it’s gone

Carried by the tide

Back to the sea

Where once we’re together

Bring back my love oh thee

In the seashore where we shared

The afternoon summer rain drizzle

Over our kisses and sweet embrace.

Oh summer rain don’t go

No, not yet I can’t let go…

P.S.

It seemed to me that summer rain isn’t over, as it still continues to inspire me with beautiful thoughts and endearing moments…that rain, once shared with the one you love is perfectly beautiful no matter what time of the year it may come.

Ahhhhh summer rain..look what have you done !!!

Summer Rain Ends

O, shocked were my senses
Upon hearing the truth
It’s breaking my heart
Though I did not want to believe
From the start

Why have you kept me hoping so long?
Why have you treated me so kind;
And beaten me so hard?

Is that how to accept threats?
Is that how to understand punishments?
Is that how trust fails?
Is that how love hurts?

Is that how summer rain ends?

P.S.

This is hopefully the end of my summer rain theme…

Hear Me

Hear Me

20161020_172621

Hear me as I cry

For your sweet agonizing ray

Though I beg the sun to shine

As you stay by in

Oh, the rain came sweeping down

As blood oozes

Thru my vein, yearning for

your

Sweet embrace.

No, not this time

Never my love,

For no one is bound to know

How prepared I can be

When you will go

And forever I am doomed.

Please, don’t.

Never go.

Stay!

Just for a moment.

I know I promised

I’ll let you go,

When summer rain ends.

P.S.

I thought my summer rain poetry obsession  (sort of) will end as soon as the first ray of sun comes out; I was wrong because, like the rain that floods the streets, my mind is flooding too with heart -wrenching ideas…..ahhhh summer rain I just can’t let you go
