Love Letter (A rewrite)

“Never did I ever receive a love letter in a scented paper in a heart-shaped
envelope from you, but ours could top the greatest love story ever

your handwriting may not at all be easy to read
but you write with great measures and  surprises instead
always, almost a perfect Hallmark Valentine’s card
not copy-pasted all original; sweet and endearing indeed

a forgotten expression,
a forgotten love?

you spent hours thinking,  and writing over again just to say
that your first kiss was so blissful it makes you fall  and stay
that the thought of it makes your legs felt like jelly at stray
such as love’s effect on you, so true but cliche

a forgotten expression,
a forgotten love?

oh, how time flies by so fast,  your pens and papers are no longer at stake
no drafts, no rewrites, no humiliations for heaven’s sake
for now, you can click on and just press send or take
whatever is forwarded by a friend, “just a piece of cake”

a forgotten expression,
a forgotten love?

gone are the days of scented papers and colored pens
sent through the backdoors or through one of your friends
‘Twas silly but fun; with all those letters in heart-shaped envelopes
for your beloved, from you  an expression of love from a distance

a forgotten expression;
but not a forgotten love

A few words from my readers.

Stay

20180228_182544

don’t stay for rainbows and butterflies and stars

stay even for the thunderstorms and the waves and the hurricanes

don’t stay for the smiles and the touches of laughter and the joys

stay even for the tears and sorrows and tribulations

don’t stay for the love and the care and the understanding

stay even for the indifference and the hate and the outrage

don’t stay for the beauty and the cheerfulness and the charm

stay even for the ugliness and the dejected and the hideous

just stay for whatever whys

P.S

Inspired by a recent poem of Gina https://alifelesslivedblog.wordpress.com/2020/04/26/all-worthwhile-poetry/ it hit me the hardest and I can’t get my chest off the line ” stay no matter why”. Sadly, some people choose to be with us or to stay with us only for good reasons and only for the best that you are. When you hit rock bottom and you falter they simply walk away. That probably is just the reality of life and the reality of human behavior.

As Long As

IMG-5084c69a9ddec36ff9bb611e7d452425-V

I am a ray of sunlight slowly drifting away without you

As long as I have my dreams

as long as I have my thoughts

as long as I remember

I will love you

As long as my eyes can see

and  my ears can hear

and my lips can speak

I will love you

As long as my  heart feels

my soul stirs within me

my imagination will hold you

I will love you

As long as  time exists

as long as love is true

as long as there is you

as long as I breath

of love and affection

I will love you

because

you love me too

No man is an Island – Thomas Merton

Our mental health emotional health, as well as our personal well being, are tied up in the quality of our personal relationships. The more closely we are connected to the people we love and adore the happier we feel and the more personal satisfaction and contentment we have in our lives. Most people say that the connection and shared enjoyment with their loved ones are their most important life experiences.

It is from the web of our relationships and connections with other people that we draw our strength. Such communities can lift us when we are down and give us the capacity to deal with whatever challenges come our way.

Sadly, with the current health crisis, we are facing, these special and important relationships we have are being put at test. The situation has separated us from our loved one and even our friends. And whether we like it or not the simple handshake and a kiss on the cheeks will no longer be observed for as long as we don’t know yet.

This is our new normal now. Away from home; separated from our loved ones; no gestures of love and no endearing moments.

Longing for You

‘Twas like nightmares
trying to scream
and nothing comes out
no matter how hard
you try

‘Twas like drowning
trying
to breath
underwater
and you can’t
simply can’t

‘Twas like missing a step
your foot is suspended
in air, you know
it should felt
solid ground

but you
have no idea
what’s happening
if you ever feel the solid ground again
or you’ll just fall forever
longing just to be near you feels like that

This week’s World of Words prompt, “kahidlaw”, a Bisaya word which means “deep longing”.
Every week, Rosemarie (of A Reading Writer), Maria (of Doodle Scribbles), and Jade will post a word from a different country. world.https://jademwong.wordpress.com/2020/03/23/poetry-reunion/
The current virus scare has left most of us locked down at home. But sadly, it has also left some families apart too.

Most of us if not all miss home; but most of those at home miss the world outside.

Sending more love guys 💗💗💗

The Way -poem

Help me find my way to get through you

There are not many options I can do

I am lost and I am tired

It has been a long way

Still, I can’t see

The light

Hold me

Take me there

To where you are now

Even just for a moment, please

Let me see you through at the end

I need this chance to see you wave adieu

Kaliedoscope

Each twist in the universe
is a new experience,
a change in the
settings of our lives
adapt and live
with the change.
Adjust our vision
to the new pattern of life
set before us.

For we are, a kaleidoscope world.

Stuck (Etheree)

Stuck
In the
Middle of
Life’s crossroad paths
What we missed; must go
Least we live in the past
And can’t let go; the present
Is a must to live and enjoy
For nobody gets closer, as future
Remains a vision, when we are just stuck.

Hush Now

20180907_121400

Keep still
amidst chaos and turmoil
all through the roaring thunder
and all through the rising tide
rest your weary heart
like an ocean easing up
after a storm
hush now.
