Crescent Moon #writephoto #crescent #night-meets-day

i had you under a crescent moon

where tiny raindrops and little sparkly lights

are night’s mournful yet graceful norm

the moon is in your eyes as it reflects back

sun’s glorious light, not wanting to outshine

the sadness within, as we

await for the night to meet the day

for up and ’till then,

this moment in time

under the crescent moon

in the warmth of your embrace

in the glory of your kiss

in the tenderness of your caress

i am yours and you are mine

under the waning crescent moon

as the illuminated portion

is decreasing,

our energy is slowing down

bathing us in feelings of satiation

and gratitude

embodying fulfillment

generating wisdom

Is This How Trust Betrays? #writephoto#worn

worn-steps

Written for Sue:

https://scvincent.com/2020/07/30/thursday-photo-prompt-worn-writephoto/

how much of my generosity has made you

the happiest that you are now?

how much of my kindness has made you

the confident that you are now?

how much of my cheerfulness has made you

the enthusiastic that you are now?

how much of my love has made you

the best that you are now?

you don’t need to say a word

your silence says it all

your achievement says it all

your well – being says it all

but why, oh dear, why

did I become the worn – out,

old – dilapidated steps

forgotten,

abandoned,

obliterated,

is this how selfish you are?

is this how love ends?

is this how trust betrays?

By the Meadow, Upon the Horizon #darkness#writephoto

Note:

there are two different versions of the poem, version 1 is on the happier side and version 2 is most likely on a sadder note

Version #1

by the meadow upon the horizon
I think of you in my fragmented memories
over my splintered forgotten dreams
and shattered broken promises
oh, how they made me smile
smile in relief,
smile, just smile

by the meadow, upon the horizon
I remember you, as nature’s sounds
mingle sweetly in my head
I hear the melody like a street band busking
playing our song, the song that was once
the anthem of our hearts
oh, how they made me cry
cry in joy,
cry, just cry

darkness unfolds, by the meadow
upon the horizon

then, there was you

Version # 2

by the meadow upon the horizon
I sat down and grieve over
our fragmented memories
our splintered, forgotten dreams
our shattered, broken promises,
oh, how my heart cries
in desperation

by the meadow upon the horizon
I sat down and weep as i
listen silently to the
sound of nature like a
street band busking, playing
our sweet, tender love song
our song that was once
the anthem of our souls
oh, how my heart sob
in hopelessness

darkness unfolds
by the meadow, upon the horizon

still, no sign of you

Vista of Hope #vista#writephoto

vista

For Sue’s photo prompt https://scvincent.com/2020/07/09/thursday-photo-prompt-vista-writephoto/

a vista of hope
is opening ahead,
to liberate us
and shed a light
upon this dark
desolate state
where green, verdant hills
and valley of luscious,
beauteous garden
is waiting…
for you and I
then we can
once more
love like
we used to
where
we can run,
walk,
talk,
and, where
touch is
and forever
will be, love’s
greatest
comfort

a vista
of hope
is ahead
to liberate us
from the bondage of fear

how mighty
it is my dear
that I dream of you
in my deepest
sleep at night
as my knight
in shining armor
and yet in my waking time
you are but a wretch rascal
how mighty it is, even more, my dear
that you are my rainbow after my rain
yet in my darkest night, you are
my eclipse casting a shadow
upon my world
how mighty
it is oh dear,
that you are the one
I hate to love
and the one
I love to hate

the road indeed
is narrow
as it’s a thin line
between love and hate

My Silver and Gold #silver#writephoto

silver and gold

glittering colors of

precious gems

mostly loved

by  women

of grace and power

but what are your silver and gold

in life and in all that you have?

my silver and gold

are the stories I tell

the poetry I write

inspired by nature’s

everlasting beauty and kindness

to humanity as it offers

wondrous gifts of

everlasting and magnificent

sight to behold

my silver and gold

are the people I love

people I care and people

I cherish

they make my life

shining

brilliantly

amidst

darkness and loneliness

and the greatest of these silver and gold

is non-other than

to be loved by you

Soar Like an Eagle #soar#writephoto

you told me
to soar like
an eagle
aim high
and fly
dream the biggest
and reach for the skies
oh, you said
remember, it won’t
be that simple
nor easy
you taught me
life lessons as an eagle
learns to fly
they fly alone or at least
with their kind
and in life
find people
who think like you
dream, grow together
never waste time with naysayers
concentrate
focus
as eagles do
embrace challenges
make sure to welcome
every storm
as eagles do
for storms lift them above the clouds
where they can rest their wings
and become stronger

and because of you
I, now soar higher
above the clouds
better
stronger
as eagles
do

Happy Father’s day Dad, wherever you are❤❤❤

To Be Loved By A Poet #secret#writephoto

You are the love of my life
and the poetry i write–michelle

to be loved
by a poet,
they say,
is both
a blessing
and a curse

love him and
you unlock
the intensity
and passion
in his heart
you become his
loving muse

betray him and
you unlock
his deepest secret,                                  his darkest side
you become his
most savage
inspiration

you will linger
in his lines
and verses
in his highest highs
and lowest lows
and you will be
immortalized in
his poetry

veiled-1

(For visually challenged writers, the image shows a green horizon, beyond which the mist veils a hill topped with strange rock formations)

she veiled her face

as she walks herself

to the misty mountain

with the hope of

finding solace

and solitude

for life wasn’t

the same the day

she was confirmed

to have been infected

by the deadly and contagious

COVID 19

and

even after a medical certificate

has been released to say

she is free of the virus

neighbors and friends

and sadly even relatives

still regard her

as a bearer of the

contagious

virus

so

the mountain

might be just

her home

for now

and who knows

forever

Dedicated to all covid 19 survivors who are experiencing discrimination.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Loneliness on a Flowerbed #guardian #writephoto

I sat on the grass
in a mountain of a beautiful illusion
of white petaled roses and dazzling marigolds
I watched the world,
with agonizing pain in my heart,
crumble, disintegrate
and tumble down

I waited for a moment
when things would be the same
back in the days when we could hug
and kiss and gather and
never be charged and never
be scared

I longed for the time,
when homecoming was such a joyous,
most anticipated,
momentous event
among loved ones
and friends

I cried a million tears for all that we have lost
our birthdays and anniversaries
we celebrated alone,
our successful milestones
we failed to share,
our loved ones we,
forever, will never see

I sat on the grass
in a mountain of a beautiful illusion
of white petaled roses and dazzling marigolds
and waited patiently
for my guardian angel to come to tell me
“walk with me dear, it’s over now”
